Quality Enhancement Strategy
Applies to: All taught programmes and academic provision at International Business School (IBS)
Regulatory alignment: Office for Students (OfS) Conditions of Registration (B1–B5), UK Quality Code for Higher Education
1. Purpose of the Quality Enhancement Strategy
The Quality Enhancement Strategy (QES) sets out IBS’s systematic approach to continuous improvement in the quality of learning, teaching, assessment and the student experience.
While quality assurance ensures that academic standards are met, quality enhancement focuses on how IBS improves outcomes over time by using evidence, reflection, innovation and student engagement.
This Strategy demonstrates IBS’s commitment to the OfS requirement that providers deliver positive outcomes for students, maintain high academic standards, and actively improve provision.
2. Core Principles
Quality enhancement at IBS is underpinned by the following principles:
- Student-centred provision – placing student learning, success and wellbeing at the heart of decision-making
- Evidence-informed improvement – using data and feedback to drive enhancement
- Inclusive learning environment – ensuring equal opportunities for all students
- Academic integrity and standards – protecting the credibility and value of IBS qualifications

5. Student Engagement and the Student Voice
IBS recognises students as active partners in quality enhancement. Student voice is captured and used through:
- Module and programme evaluation surveys
- Student representation at programme and institutional level
- Informal and formal feedback mechanisms
- Academic appeals and complaints trend analysis
Feedback is analysed and used to:
- Identify strengths and areas for enhancement
- Inform curriculum review and teaching practice
- Evaluate the effectiveness of enhancement actions
Students are informed of resulting actions through “You said, we did” approaches wherever practicable.
6. Enhancement of Learning, Teaching and Assessment
