1. Policy Statement
IBS is committed to promoting the wellbeing, safety, and success of all students. We provide a supportive, inclusive learning environment that enables students to thrive academically and personally, in line with the Office for Students’ (OfS) regulatory requirements.
2. Purpose
This policy sets out IBS’s approach to:
- Promoting positive wellbeing and early intervention
- Providing clear routes to support and reasonable adjustments
- Managing wellbeing and safeguarding concerns proportionately and lawfully
3. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All IBS students
- All IBS staff, contractors, and representatives
4. Principles
IBS is guided by the following principles:
- Student‑centred support tailored to individual needs
- Early identification and intervention
- Equality, diversity and non‑discrimination
- Confidentiality and data protection
- Proportionate and risk‑based responses
5. Support and Responsibilities
- IBS will maintain effective wellbeing and safeguarding arrangements and ensure compliance with OfS Conditions of Registration.
- Student Wellbeing Services provide confidential advice, support, referrals, and reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
- Staff are responsible for identifying concerns early and signposting students to support.
- Students are encouraged to engage with support services and communicate difficulties promptly.
6. Fitness to Study and Safeguarding
Where significant wellbeing or safeguarding concerns arise, IBS may implement supportive Fitness to Study or safeguarding procedures, ensuring decisions are fair, evidence‑based, and focused on student welfare.
7. Data Protection
All personal data is processed in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Information is shared only where necessary and lawful.
8. Review and Approval
This policy is reviewed biennially or earlier in response to regulatory or strategic change.
