1. Introduction
These Student Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between International Business School (IBS) and students who accept an offer to study at IBS. They explain the basis on which IBS provides education services and the responsibilities of both IBS and students.
By accepting an offer of a place, students enter into a legally binding contract with IBS and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions and all associated policies and regulations.
2. About IBS
International Business School (IBS) is a higher education provider operating in England and regulated by the Office for Students (OfS).
IBS contact details and regulatory information are published on the IBS website. Students are encouraged to contact IBS if clarification is required before accepting an offer.
3. Formation of the Contract
3.1 Offer and Acceptance
- An offer of a place is made in writing, setting out programme details, fees, duration and any conditions.
- A contract is formed once the student formally accepts the offer in accordance with IBS instructions.
3.2 Contract Documents
The contract comprises:
- These Student Terms and Conditions
- The Offer Letter
- Programme specifications and published course information
- The Fees Refund and Compensation Policy
- All relevant IBS academic regulations and policies
4. Equality, Diversity and Accessibility
IBS is committed to equality of opportunity and inclusive practice. Reasonable adjustments will be made for students with disabilities or specific support needs, where appropriate.
Students are encouraged to disclose relevant needs to enable timely support.
5. Enrolment and Re‑enrolment
5.1 Enrolment
Students must:
- Meet all entry requirements and conditions
- Complete enrolment processes by published deadlines
- Attend induction and engage with required documentation
5.2 Re‑enrolment
Students must re‑enrol each academic year in accordance with IBS procedures.
6. IBS Obligations
IBS will:
- Provide education services with reasonable skill and care
- Deliver programmes in line with published specifications
- Maintain academic standards and quality assurance processes
- Provide access to academic, pastoral and support services
IBS cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes or results.
7. Student Obligations
Students agree to:
- Engage fully with learning and assessment activities
- Attend scheduled teaching and assessments
- Comply with academic regulations and codes of conduct
- Act lawfully and respectfully within the IBS community
- Pay tuition fees and charges when due
- Provide accurate, complete and up‑to‑date information
Failure to meet obligations may result in disciplinary or academic action.
8. Fees and Payment
8.1 Fees
Students are responsible for payment of tuition fees and any additional charges specified in the Offer Letter and fees schedule.
8.2 Non‑payment
Failure to pay fees may result in:
- Restricted access to services
- Suspension of studies
- Termination of registration
Refunds and compensation are handled in accordance with the Fees Refund and Compensation Policy.
9. Changes to Programmes or Services
IBS may make reasonable changes to programmes, services or facilities, including in response to regulatory, academic or operational requirements.
Where changes are material, IBS will:
- Communicate clearly and promptly with students
- Take reasonable steps to minimise disadvantage
- Apply Student Protection Plan arrangements where applicable
10. Suspension, Withdrawal and Termination
10.1 Student‑initiated Withdrawal
Students may withdraw from their programme in line with IBS procedures. Refund eligibility depends on timing and circumstances and is governed by the Fees Refund and Compensation Policy.
10.2 IBS‑initiated Suspension or Termination
IBS may suspend or terminate a student’s registration where:
- Academic or conduct regulations are breached
- Fees are unpaid
- Legal, health or fitness to study concerns arise
Appropriate procedures and rights of review will apply.
11. Complaints and Appeals
Students may raise concerns or complaints under the Student Complaints Policy.
Once internal procedures are exhausted, eligible students may refer complaints to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA).
12. Data Protection
Personal data will be processed in accordance with the IBS Data Protection Policy, UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

13. Events Outside IBS Control
IBS will not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including emergencies or regulatory restrictions. IBS will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and apply Student Protection Plan measures where relevant.
14. Liability
IBS accepts responsibility for foreseeable loss caused by breach of contract but does not exclude liability for matters which cannot be limited by law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction to resolve disputes.
16. Alternative Formats
These Student Terms and Conditions are available in alternative formats upon request. Requests should be directed to the Academic Standards and Quality Office.
