1. Policy Statement
International Business School (IBS) is committed to operating transparent, fair and inclusive processes for application, enrolment and student induction. IBS recognises that clear pre‑contract information, effective enrolment procedures and a structured induction are essential to supporting informed student choice, successful transition into higher education, and positive student outcomes.
This policy supports IBS’s responsibilities under the Office for Students (OfS) regulatory framework by ensuring that students receive accurate information, appropriate support at the point of entry, and a consistent introduction to academic and institutional expectations.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Explain how prospective students can apply to study at IBS
- Set out enrolment processes and verification requirements
- Describe the purpose and components of student induction
- Ensure compliance with OfS and consumer protection requirements
- Support student transition, engagement and retention
3. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All applicants to IBS programmes
- All students enrolling on IBS programmes
- Pre‑entry, enrolment and induction activities
This policy applies across undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes delivered by IBS.
4. How to Apply
4.1 Application Process
Prospective students apply to IBS by:
- Completing the IBS application process as outlined on the IBS website
- Submitting required academic qualifications and supporting documentation
- Meeting published entry requirements for the chosen programme
IBS will provide clear, accessible information on programme content, fees, entry requirements and progression routes prior to offer.
4.2 Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions are:
- Based on published academic and entry criteria
- Made fairly, transparently and consistently
- Supported by reasonable adjustments where appropriate
Admission outcomes will be communicated in writing, together with clear information about conditions, next steps and enrolment requirements.
5. Enrolment
5.1 Enrolment Requirements
To enrol at IBS, students must:
- Accept their offer in accordance with stated deadlines
- Provide valid identification and original qualification evidence
- Complete required enrolment documentation
- Agree to the terms and conditions of study
Failure to complete enrolment requirements may result in delayed or refused registration.
5.2 Verification and Right to Study
IBS will undertake appropriate checks to verify:
- Identity and prior qualifications
- Eligibility to study where required
- Compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations
All information will be processed in accordance with the IBS Data Protection Policy.
6. Induction
6.1 Purpose of Induction

- Begin engaging effectively with their programme of study
6.2 Induction Content
Induction typically includes:

- Information on student support, wellbeing and safeguarding
- Briefing on policies, regulations and complaints processes
Induction may be delivered through a combination of in‑person and online activities.
7. Accessibility and Equality
IBS is committed to ensuring that application, enrolment and induction processes are accessible and inclusive. Reasonable adjustments will be provided where appropriate, in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Students are encouraged to disclose support needs at an early stage to enable timely assistance.
8. Information Accuracy and Consumer Protection
